Brixton’s The Laundry hosts The Wild Table in the woods this May

For three days in May, The Laundry is heading from Brixton to Browning Bros, a fifth-generation, family-run organic farm an hour from London. The lunch or dinner event, The Wild Table, will take place on Friday 15th, Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th May 2026, following two previous sell-outs from the partnership between the London bistro and the Essex farm.

Previously a 19th-century laundry, The Laundry is a South London staple operating in full swing with everything from toasted banana bread to steak frites served every day. So the restaurant is more than accustomed to the hustle and bustle, and now looks to bring guests together in new, revitalised ways – where farming goes straight to fork, all via an open flame.

The Wild Table at Teybrook Orchard

The setting for The Wild Table is none other than the farm’s Teybrook Orchard woodland, where large timber tables sit fireside, alight with fairy lights and freshly picked flowers. At a time when life feels more fast-paced than ever, while we’re simultaneously becoming more disconnected from what we’re eating, the idea is to invite guests to slow down and savour the land, the flavours and the company around them.

Unlike in the heart of Brixton, this will be a place to escape, yet still within an intimate setting shared with others. Together, guests can enjoy what spring brings, focusing on newly grown ingredients and produce reflective of longer, lighter days.

What’s on the menu

The Wild Table experience includes a seasonal cocktail and canapés to start, a short walk in the forest, and a multi-course feasting menu paired with a curated wine list, all served beneath the canopy with good old English precaution. Cooking over the flame in front of guests’ eyes, Chef Melanie Brown will produce bold, uncomplicated flavours, using local produce and ingredients. For anyone wanting an even fuller off-grid experience, in the best of style, glamping is available complete with a Laundry breakfast cooked and served in the woods.
